We are recruiting!

With the semester and the year nearing it's end "Snakker Ikke Norsk" is saying farewell to some of their cherished journalists. If you are staying in Oslo the next semester or longer and always wanted to bring out that inner journalist , now is your opportunity! For the next semester, we are looking for 4-5 new journalists and 1 new technician to keep our show fun, inspiring and entertaining.

What is Radio Nova?
"Snakker ikke Norsk" is just one of many shows on the radio station Radio Nova. Radio Nova is Oslo's studemt radio station, broadcasting on 99.3FM about 50 hours a week on just about any topic under the sun. Radio Nova is financed primarily by the students' semester fees and is almost entirely run by volunteers - this means you will not get paid! On the plus side, Radio Nova offers a fun and inspiring environment where to get first-hand experience in radio broadcasting, and while we may be amateurs our ambitions are high! Radio Nova regularly competes with commercial radio stations for national radio awards and several of its former members have gone on to careers in professional broadcasting. So whether you just want to dabble in radio or whether you are planning a career in radio, Radio Nova is the place for you!

What is "Snakker Ikke Norsk"?
Snakker ikke Norsk is the only English language show on Radio Nova. Our motto is "by foreign students for foreign students". Unlike most other shows, Snakker ikke Norsk is not bound to any particular topic, and in the past we have have covered everything from movie and concert reviews to reports on the economic crisis or the drug situation on lower Grünerløkka and even live, improvised comedy skits. We try to look at Norway through foreign eyes and bring the great wide world, but within that framework almost anything goes. As a journalist you would produce the content that goes on the air, choose the music and host the show. As a technician, you operate the mixer, computers, etc. and manage the show when it's actually going on the air.

If you want to know more...
The next broadcasting semester starts at January 12th 2009 and we look to find our new members by the end of january. We will have a formal round of interviews in the end of january, but if you are interested or have any questions, do contact us now! Our email adress is snakkerikkenorsk@gmail.com

Enjoy the holidays!
