Pulse, October 6

1. Flea Market

Looking for a bargain? Maybe one of Oslo's flea markets is something for you. They mostly happen in schools (so in case it rains you won't get wet) and are a great way of finding things you don't really need. It is cheap, the choice is huge and it is just fun to go there.

The website www.loppemarked.info has an overview over all the flea markets in and around Oslo. The upcoming weekend there is one at the Majorstua school (Bogstaveien 74, close to the Majorstuen subway stop.) On Saturday it is from 11 to 4, and on Sunday from 12 to 3. Happy shopping!

2. Free Opera

You want to listen to some opera, but are not willing to pay a single crown? There is a free performance at the First Hotel Millenium at Tollbugata 25. It starts this Friday at 6 in the evening and they play "Meine Lippen sie küssen so heiss" (My lips, they kiss so hotly) which was first performed in Vienna in 1934.

3. Documentary movie about water

If you just want to watch a movie, here comes and interesting documentary: The movie "About Water, People and Yellow cans" starts at 13.30 on Saturday at the Nobel Peace Center. The documentary is about people who have difficulties getting water - one of the most important elements of our lives. The entrance fee is 60 Crowns and the movie is part of the Film fra Sør film festival. For information about this movie and a whole lot more go to filmfrasor.no

4. National Theatre: Behind the scenes

Ever wanted to look behind the scenes of the National Theatre? On Saturday at 12.00 o'clock you have the possibility to do so. There is a guided tour as part of the special events programme of the University of Oslo. The event is free of charge, but bring your semester card and meet in the lobby of National Theatre at 12. You will be introduced to Norway's theatre life and the tour takes you to all the main parts of the theatre.
