Pulse 02.09

1.The first event is a free rock festival. GranittRock is a festival for everybody in Arena Lillomarka, Bergensveien, Grorud. Live music from 3 stages, including Raga Rockers, Åge Alexandersen & Sambandet, Surferosa and Animal Alpha, just to name few.
The festival will take place at Grorud, on Friday, the 5th of September from 17.00, and on Saturday, the 6th of September from 14.00

2. The next event is a movie shown at Cinemateket. “THE KAUTOKEINO REBELLION” For centuries Northern Scandinavia has been inhabited by the Saami population. Set in 1952 the film tells how modernisation is about to enter the small village of Kautokeino, where authority is held by the trades man and liquor dealer Ruth. One of the native tribes refuses to pay the unjust debt to Ruth. This leads to a rebellion, led by the young woman Elen, which turns out to be the most dramatic part of Northern Scandinavian history. The movie is screened with the English subtitles.

It’s on Thursday, the 4th of September at 16.30 and it’s free of charge.

3. This weekend is a beginning of “4 days of Jewish culture” in Norway. As a part of this event there is a concert on Sunday at 7. 30 p.m at the Norwegian academy of music. : "Issay Dobrowen's music”
