Pulse Week 49

Time for traditional Oslo low-budget PulseJ
1. The first event is a guitar concert of a Japanese guitar player Tetuzi Akiyama with his Norwegian friends. The musical instruments represented in the concert will be: guitars, saxophone, trumpet and tuba. The 9th of December it’s posible to hear them live at the Norwegian Academy of Music at 19.00. Free of charge.
2. Are you up to yet another Norwegian movie with English subtitles? This time it’s a legendary “Cool and Crazy”, I would say a “must watch” in the Norwegian movies list. With Cool and Crazy one of Norway's most experienced and renowned feature film directors is bringing to the screen a world he knows and loves. And he does it in the spirit of the people he portrays, with irreverence and wit and highly charged. For some this will be a film about men. For others it will be about love. Or politics. Or fish. Above all it is about the dignity of ordinary lives lived under extreme circumstances. For those that loved Buena Vista Social Club - this is the answer. It’s in Cinemateket on Thursday, 6th of December at 16.30 Free of charge
3. The next event on my Pulse agenda today is a jazz concert of Papa k kvintett. Jazz and improvisation with inspiration from soul, ska,Dolphy, surf and William Blake.More info is available at myspace.com/papakkvintett The concert is on Thursday, 6th of December at Mogador CafĂ© at 21.00. Free of charge.Students at Oslo Art University College arrange their yearly Christmas marked. Just an idea for some Christmas presentsJ.It’s on 8th and 9th of December from 11 till 16.00 back Oslo Domkirke
